Long Island Expressway Reopens After Five-Vehicle Crash With Injuries

The Long Island Expressway has reopened in Suffolk County early Tuesday afternoon, Nov. 5 following a five-vehicle crash that injured five people.

The crash took place around 6:53 a.m., Tuesday, Nov. 5, westbound near Exit 53, said the Suffolk County Police.

Police did not know the extent of the injuries but did say all five drivers were taken to area hospitals.

The crash is under investigation by detectives.
